Hundreds of walkers will lace up their boots this spring for the popular Hope House Llangollen Canal Walk. The 10-mile route raises vital funds for Hope House Children’s Hospices.
Trevor Basin
On Sunday, 22nd March, participants will set off from Trevor Basin in Llangollen. The route then takes walkers across the world-famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. From there, they will enjoy breathtaking views across the stunning Dee Valley.
After crossing the aqueduct, walkers follow the canal towards The Poachers pub in Chirk. There, they can enjoy refreshments before heading back to the finish. Every participant will receive a special 2026 medal at the end of the walk.
A Much-Loved Annual Event
The canal walk now enters its 16th year. Last year alone, the event raised around £30,000 for the hospice.
Hope House fundraiser Vicky Bradbeer said:
“This wonderful event is guaranteed to put a smile on your face and a spring in your step next March. Bring along friends, family, colleagues and those four-legged friends and embrace the great outdoors.
“The canal walk is extremely popular and well-supported and has always been a sell-out, so make sure you sign up and get your tickets via the Hope House website to avoid disappointment.”

Sponsored by DMR Plumbing & Heating
The 2026 event is proudly sponsored by DMR Plumbing & Heating.
Rosie-Jane Quayle, Office Manager at DMR Plumbing & Heating, said:
“Supporting a charity such as Hope House Children’s Hospices means a great deal to DMR Plumbing & Heating, as this reflects our commitment and care for others within our community.
“Sponsoring this event will help create moments of comfort and support for families that need it most. We believe in putting people first, and we know that Hope House truly does make a genuine, lasting impact in our community.
“The team is really excited to be the main sponsor for this event and will be bringing everyone from the big team down to take part and help raise as much money as we can on the day.”
Supporting Families Across the Region
Hope House Children’s Hospices provides specialist nursing care and support to children and families across Shropshire, Cheshire and Wales. The charity helps every child with a life-threatening condition live their best life. It also supports families when they need it most.
Running the hospice costs £10 million each year. Only around two months of income comes from statutory sources. For the remaining months, the charity relies on public support.
By joining the Llangollen Canal Walk, you will help raise vital funds. You will also enjoy a family-friendly day out in the fresh spring air.
Tickets cost £15 for adults and £5 for children. Every entrant receives a bespoke 2026 medal and a goody bag at the halfway point.
