A Challenging Year
This year has been one the most financially challenging for the hospice. It will cost £3,435,943 to run hospice services with 82% of the funding coming from public donations.
Fundraising events planned for this year were expected to contribute at least £250,000 towards patient care. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, however, the subsequent lockdown and social-distancing measures have meant many of these events were unable to go ahead.
Katharine Griffiths from Whittingham Riddell Ltd said: “The Team at WR Partners are once again delighted to support Nightingale House Hospice with their 2020 Virtual Duck Race. Having to adhere to Covid guidelines means we will be unable to attend what normally is a fun-filled afternoon and we wish you every success in raising money for such a worthy cause.”
Richard Thomas, Partner at DTM Legal added: “DTM Legal are proud sponsors of the Big Quacker Duck Race. In these strange Covid times, it is hard to find ways to fundraise. The team at Nightingale have so many ideas and this is another great one. We hope it raises lots of interest to help them fundraise for the very important work that they do in caring for their inpatients and providing much-needed services across the community. DTM Legal are right behind them with this event. May the best duck win!”
Nightingale House Hospice
The hospice has been looking at other ways to keep their finances afloat during this difficult time. They achieve the majority of their running costs through fundraising and other channels of income generation. These channels include its onsite café and retail outlets, which make a significant contribution towards maintaining services for those with life-limiting illnesses within palliative care.
Our services are completely free of charge to patients and their families across our catchment area stretching from Wrexham, Flintshire and East Denbighshire to Barmouth and the border towns including Oswestry and Whitchurch.
Nightingale House Hospice services are available to everyone in its catchment area living with a life-limiting illness.
It costs £3,435,943 every year to run The Nightingale House Hospice.
That’s equivalent to £286,329 per month, £66,076 per week or £9,388 per day.
