Peacock Cup

Peacock Cup returns to Wrexham in support of Hope House!
An annual wheelchair rugby league cup will help raise money and support seriously ill local children and their families.
The Peacock Cup will be contested by the North Wales Crusaders, Rochdale Hornets, Sheffield Eagles and Torfaen Tigers. It is held in memory of three-year-old Wrexham boy, Thomas Jones, who died in 2018.
Thomas’s uncle Harry Jones decided to use the event to raise funds for the children’s hospices due to the care his family received there.
“The work Hope House does in the community is remarkable. Having seen how much they helped my family, it only seemed right for us to use this event to keep giving something back,”.
“It’s always a great event, and it’s wonderful we can get together once again to play our sport, as well as donating all proceeds to a wonderful cause.”
As well as the tournament itself Harry also arranges a raffle and auction. There are regular pieces of signed rugby memorabilia and many other great items available for bids. You can find them at ‘North Wales Crusader Wheelchair RL’ on Facebook.
Fundraiser Vicky Bradbeer said: “Without the support of our local community and people like Harry organising such wonderful events like the Peacock Cup we simply would not be here for the children and families that need us.
“Thank you so much Harry and good luck to all the teams taking part.”
You can also donate to Thomas’s memory fund where all proceeds go to Hope House Children’s Hospices at www.thomas-jones.muchloved.com.
