Rob Corcoran Hosts FOCUS Wales Film Festival – The first wave of film industry events and delegates have been announced for the BAFTA Cymru-Qualifying 2025 FOCUS Wales Film Festival, with tickets available at focuswales.com/tickets.

Robert Corcoran of 73 Degree Films will present this year’s film festival at Coleg Cambria’s city centre campus on Chester Road across the 9th-10th of May 2025. As in previous years, the film festival takes place concurrently with the music festival and conference.
The programme will feature an expanded series of film industry events, including networking parties, panels and Q&As with top talent, also providing filmmakers and audiences with unparalleled access and opportunities to meet and learn with others.
Meanwhile, Ffilm Cymru’s CEO Lee Walters is confirmed as a panellist for a discussion on ‘The State of Welsh Filmmaking,’. This will take a look at upcoming projects, trends and also the latest funding and commissioning opportunities for filmmakers and production companies. Dai Baker, Creative Wales’ Sector Development Manager for Film, and Plus Guto Rhun, S4C’s Young Audiences Commissioner, will be joining him, among others.
The Future of Filmmaking
This will all take place alongside the festival’s BAFTA-Qualifying short film competition and feature film programme, an announcement about which is due to happen imminently.
In addition, Rachel Pedley of Avant Cymru and The Lab on Eagles Meadow will join a panel discussing ‘The Future of Filmmaking’. This will look at new formats, technology, opportunities and more across the world of filmmaking and content creation.
Rob says, “It’s great that once again, we’re going to be able to bring some amazing filmmakers, film industry leaders and more to Wrexham. 2025 looks set to be our biggest and best edition yet!”
