Neil Williams tells us all about the fundraiser he has organised in memory of his late wife.
Courageous Battle
Following a short but courageous battle, my wife, Hilary Neil-Williams, passed away from motor neurone disease (MND), having only been formally diagnosed less than a month prior. Her passing coincided with a couple of high-profile sports stars who had also succumbed to MND, including Doddie Weir and Rob Burrows.

This led to a public perception that it only affected sports-related individuals, hence my organisation of a charity event at Levant in Wrexham on 31st October from 8 pm until late to raise awareness that MND affects anyone and everyone, regardless of gender, age, or whether they have played sports or not.
Hilary, AKA Blod
The event is in memory of Hilary, AKA ‘Blod’, and is looking to raise funds for MND research, keep Hilary’s name and memory alive, raise much-needed funds for MND and to have an excellent night with live music, a cocktail or two and a good dance ( Hilary was always up for a dance).

Tickets are £30 each and available from Levant (01978 291111) or by contacting 07838 723 831. You will receive a complimentary glass of fizz before enjoying live music from Ean Catrin Parry and the local DNJ Funk Band. There will also be lots of fantastic raffle prizes and a money tree.
The dress code is smart, but black tie and cocktail dresses are also desirable.
Go to Hilary’s funding page if you would like to contribute to Nightingale House Hospice and the mnda (motor neurone disease association).
