The landscapes of North Wales were featured in all their glory as local businesses and amateur photographers came together for a special charity exhibition at Nightingale House Hospice. The event celebrated both the region’s natural beauty and the creative talent behind the lens.

Striking Images

The exhibition marked the culmination of a free-to-enter photography competition run earlier this year by Wrexham-based financial planners Hadlow Edwards, in partnership with their charity partner, Nightingale House Hospice. The competition aimed to source 12 striking images for the company’s 2026 calendar, all inspired by the hospice’s current ‘Leaves of Love’ campaign.

Nearly 150 entries were on display, presenting the judging panel with a challenging task in selecting the final 12, including the overall winner. The winning image now features on the front cover of the calendar, while all shortlisted and winning photographs received their own special showcase during a special VIP viewing in the hospice atrium, where the prize presentations also took place.

“The Leaves of Love”

Fiona Clarke, marketing specialist at Hadlow Edwards, said, “The number and quality of entries this year was overwhelming. Our judges had a particularly challenging task selecting the winners. The ‘Leaves of Love’ theme provided real scope for our photographers to showcase their creativity and skill. The special viewing at Nightingale House allowed all our shortlisted entrants, winners and specially-invited guests to view all the images in a specially curated exhibition.”

Kara Lindsay, corporate partnerships officer at Nightingale House Hospice and one of the competition judges, added, “We were delighted to host this special viewing. The photographs are so beautiful and uplifting, and align with our own campaign to create a new woodland of remembrance. The support of local businesses means the world to us, so we were immensely proud to partner with Hadlow Edwards on this initiative.”

Specialist Palliative Care

Nightingale House Hospice provides specialist palliative care for people with life-limiting illnesses, free of charge to patients and their families. Its services cover a wide catchment area, from Wrexham, Flintshire and East Denbighshire through to Barmouth and border towns including Oswestry and Whitchurch. The photographs will remain on display until the new year, and the calendars are available to purchase in the hospice gift shop, with proceeds supporting its vital work.
