Groundwork North Wales have had a busy summer. With the events taking place at Minera Lead Mines and Venue in the Park, Alyn Waters. There is more to look forward to in September.

This month sees two new events for the local and wider community at Minera. A Heritage Fun Day will also take place on September 14th and an outdoor film-screening on September 21st.

The fun day will feature guided tours of the site provided by Wrexham Museum. Also Giggles, Games, face painting and much more will be there. The film screening is called ‘Movies at Minera’ and will be showing Shrek, the 2001 American cartoon comedy film. This is loosely based on the 1990 fairytale picture book of the same name by William Steig. Tickets are available online and from the visitor centre itself.

These events aim to show off the attraction’s fantastic natural landscape and inform participants about the area’s rich heritage.
