FC United Of Wrexham Pay Tribute To Sponsors

A local football club that has gained worldwide attention after Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds generously purchased new kits for its players says it would be nothing without community support.

Time2Travel

FC United of Wrexham co-founder and current chairman Andrew Ruscoe has paid tribute to the club’s main sponsor, coach and minibus hire firm Time2Travel also based in the town. The company is sponsoring the North East Wales League side this season. They appear on the front of the shirts, including the purple Deadpool kits funded by the star of the film.

The club always appreciates the limelight and generosity. However, as Andrew says, the lifeblood of community clubs like FC United of Wrexham which operates junior, women’s and futsal sides, would not be possible without local support.

He said: “The club would simply not exist without the support of volunteers and sponsors. Having a sponsor like Time2Travel has been crucial to us even getting to this stage. We enable players of all ages, abilities and gender the opportunity to play organised football.

Moving Up The Football Pyramid

“I would like to think they are reaping the benefits of the recent national and international exposure the club has had. This is because no other team at this level, the lowest tier in Wales, has experienced anything like this ever before. It takes a lot to run a club for a whole season and I know every other chairman at this level will say the same.

“I would love someone to step forward and progress our ambitions to move up the football and futsal pyramid. In the meantime, we are very grateful for the support of the likes of Time2Travel because without them the club would simply not exist.”

Laura at Time2Travel, said: “Here we understand the difficulties facing everyone with the cost of living crisis. Therefore it’s our pleasure to support FC United as their main sponsor and with their continuing growth. It is also our ambition to grow within the community of Wrexham by offering sustainable travel solutions.”

The club plays its home games at Bronwen’s Green in Brymbo.
