Hotel Wrexham held its official relaunch party on Friday, 28th June. The Lady Mayoress of Wrexham and Councillor Beryl Blackmore attended the celebration. She officiated the renaming ceremony by cutting a ribbon and unveiling a plaque in front of the large crowd of over 200 in the hotel’s main function room.
This 37-bedroom roadside hotel (formerly known as Holt Lodge Hotel) is undergoing a £250,000 investment programme. The refurbishment is due for completion in late 2024. The hotel will remain open while all 37 rooms and the main function suite are upgraded. The project will make the venue one of the area’s leading hotel, food, and beverage destinations.
As part of the hotel’s redevelopment, the new owners are introducing a new food and beverage brand called The Savvy Fox. During the evening, guests were able to sample items from their menu. The sliders and mini fish and chips proving especially popular!
The relaunch also featured a memorable set by local country singer Bobby Jo Pritchard. Along with the formal proceedings and delicious food and drink.
Exciting Plans
Hotel Wrexham’s owners, hotelier Steven Hesketh and Daniel Gillon, co-founder and managing director of Onyx Real Estate Liverpool, were delighted to see that so many of Wrexham’s business leaders and sports stars had come along to find out more about their exciting plans for the venue.
Steven Hesketh said: “On this special night, we thoroughly enjoyed giving our VIP guests a sneak peek of what is to come. With a tour of some of the bedrooms and revealing more details of our plans for the main function suite. The night was just a teaser for what the future holds for our new hotel. We can’t wait to share it with the local community.
“We’d also like to thank Wrexham Lager and the Think Wine Group for all our delicious drinks on the night.”
The new owners also took the time to pay tribute to past owners Andrew and Alexandra Smeaton, who were also present at the event.
Hotel Wrexham is set on approximately 7.18 acres of land, located on Wrexham Road, between the village of Holt and the city of Wrexham, just 10 minutes from the city centre.
