Froncysyllte dog training business Beastly Thoughts were top dog at the recent Welsh Business Awards North Wales.
A Thrilling Surprise
The dog training and behaviour business based in Froncysyllte has been crowned Best Pet Services Business and Overall Winner at the inaugural Welsh Business Awards North Wales event, held this week in Flint. Nominated earlier this year for the Best Pet Services Award, Beastly Thoughts stood out among five finalists, earning the top spot through votes from dog owners along the Wrexham to Oswestry corridor. Also, in a thrilling surprise, the business secured the overall winner title, recognising it as the most voted-for business in the competition.

Karen Boyce, owner and lead trainer, accepted the awards alongside two key team members, head instructor Demi Powell and administrator Janet Robbins, thanking clients and recognising the Welsh Business Awards organisers.
“We were absolutely stunned but also incredibly proud,” said Karen. “This recognition celebrates the hard work of our team and the trust of our amazing clients.”
A Milestone Year
The awards cap a milestone year for Beastly Thoughts. It marked its 18th anniversary on 1st July and officially welcomed over 2,000 puppies through its Puppy School UK classes. As a qualified puppy school tutor and member of the Animal Behaviour and Training Council, Karen has also previously earned the title Dog Trainer/Behaviourist of the Year at the 2019 Animal Star Awards.

Beastly Thoughts offers group classes and one-to-one training across Wrexham and North Shropshire. It specialises in positive, reward-based methods to build strong bonds between dogs and their owners. The rehabilitation of reactivity dogs is also a specialist area for the business.
