Erddig Nordic Walkers have been appointed official ambassadors for Wrexham’s bid to become UK City of Culture 2029.

Erddig Nordic Walkers (ENW) announced their new ambassador role this September. Alongside other local groups and businesses, ENW will help build Wrexham’s profile and raise its standing throughout the campaign.

A Fun Way to Keep Fit Outdoors

The group runs three weekly Nordic walking sessions across the Wrexham area. Walkers explore some of the region’s most beautiful scenery, and every walk ends with a social gathering. This gives members a great chance to meet like-minded people and make new friends.

Over the summer, ENW enjoyed a busy programme of special events. These included away-day walks at Llandudno, Anglesey and the Mawddach Trail. The group is now looking forward to its final away-day at Llyn Brenig in September. Earlier in the summer, eighty walkers also took advantage of the sunshine with a picnic in the Rose Garden at Erddig, following a walk around the estate.
