Borras Park residents picked up free crime prevention advice and tools at the annual Safer Neighbourhood Event.
Key community partners recently came together to deliver free, practical crime prevention advice to Borras Park residents. Councillor Debbie Wallice, the local councillor for Borras Park, organised and hosted her annual Safer Neighbourhood Event. It brought together North Wales Police’s local neighbourhood team and Senedd Member for Fflint Wrecsam, Sam Rowlands MS.
Practical Advice on the Green
Local residents turned out in force for the event, held on the green space opposite Lake View and Norfolk Road. Throughout the day, policing partners handed out free and practical crime prevention advice. In addition, visitors received window alarms and invisible ink pens to mark items at risk of theft, such as bikes.
Local Police Constable Mark Hughes helped plan the event. He also attended on the day alongside Wrexham Police’s local neighbourhood team.

Keeping Borras Park Safe
Speaking after the event, Councillor Wallice said: “I’m delighted this event was yet another success. Providing practical crime prevention tools and connecting neighbours directly with our local policing team is vital.”
She continued: “I’d like to thank PC Mark Hughes and our local policing team for all they do. I’m determined to ensure Borras Park remains a safe, vibrant community for local residents.”
Sam Rowlands MS was also on hand to assist residents. “It was good to meet with local residents at this year’s Safer Neighbourhood Event,” he said. “Thanks are due to North Wales Police who were on hand to provide helpful tips on how people can keep their homes and property safe. And thanks are of course due to Cllr. Wallice for bringing residents and the police together for this important event.”
More Events to Come
The annual event will return in full next year. Meanwhile, Councillor Wallice confirmed that residents can expect further community events with Borras Park’s local policing team later this autumn.
