The biggest women’s tennis tournament in the UK this year, outside of the grass court season, will take place at Wrexham Tennis & Padel Centre between October 18th and 25th.
Mimi Xu
Rising Welsh star Mimi Xu, the current British number six, was crowned champion when the International Tennis Federation World Tennis Tour event took place in Wrexham for the first time last year.
Tournament promoter Dave Courteen said, “It’s always exciting when the tickets go on sale. They are now available to buy online from the tournament website. Wrexham is just one of 33 cities worldwide to host a W100 tournament. This is the highest level on the ITF Tour, and the Lexus Wrexham Open is recognised as one of the best spectator events on the ITF World Tour circuit. It has quickly built an excellent reputation as a great tournament. Its courtside stadium seating, music and post-match interviews with the players all add to the overall experience for tennis fans.”

Finals and Semi-Finals Sold Out
Ticket prices include a 44-page tournament programme. They start from £8 for adults and £4 for under-16s, with finals day tickets to enjoy both the singles and doubles finals costing £25 and £19 respectively. A tournament pass to watch all matches throughout the week, priced £75 for adults and £57 for under-16s, is also available to buy.
Dave added, “The response for this event from the local community in Wrexham and North Wales, as well as people from much further afield, was fantastic last year. Tickets for finals day and semi-finals day both sold out. There were crowds of more than 600 enjoying the tennis. Tournament passes for the week also proved extremely popular and quickly sold out. We expect October’s event, particularly after the success of last year, to be even bigger and better. We recommend that people secure their tickets as soon as possible to watch leading British and international tennis stars.”

Llangollen Pavilion Event Continues to Add Attractions
North Wales is also preparing for several high-profile sporting and cultural events later this year. Rising Welsh singer-songwriter Brook Fox is set to support Emeli Sandé during a world-exclusive orchestral performance at the Llangollen Pavilion as part of the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod. Organisers say the concert reflects the festival’s ongoing commitment to combining internationally recognised performers with emerging Welsh talent. Book ticket on seetickets.com.
