Llangollen Pavilion
Two of the UK’s most exciting new voices will play Llangollen this summer when Scottish soul artist Brooke Combe and Yorkshire singer-songwriter Fiona-Lee join Tom Grennan as special guests for his headline show on Sunday 5 July.
The concert is part of TK Maxx presents Live at Llangollen Pavilion, a season at the venue that also features Rick Astley, Billy Ocean, Deacon Blue and Bowling for Soup.
Brooke Combe has built a reputation since her 2023 breakthrough, supporting names including Lionel Richie and Paolo Nutini and releasing her debut album Dancing at the Edge of the World. Fiona-Lee, whose EP Every Woman has drawn praise from BBC Radio 1 and 6Music, opens the night fresh from her debut UK headline tour. Wales Rounders Stars Inspire 50 Girls at Ysgol Rhiwabon
In other local youth highlights, Ysgol Rhiwabon welcomed Rhyl Rounders Club players Maz, Hannah and Alex, all of whom have represented Wales, for a rounders workshop attended by 50 girls. Throughout the session, students developed their batting and fielding and sharpened their tactical understanding, with noticeable improvements in both skill and confidence.
“A huge thank you to Maz, Hannah and Alex for delivering such a memorable and inspiring experience,” said Aimee Jones, Curriculum Leader for Sports and PSE. Their passion for the sport has undoubtedly motivated our students, many of whom are now dreaming of following in their footsteps and one day representing Wales themselves. Well done to all 50 girls who attended, your effort, attitude and commitment were exceptional.”
