Nightingale Hospice June 2021. There is always something going on at the Nightingale House Hospice, and the last few months have been no exception!
Bluebells to Fill Sunshine Meadow at Erddig
Sunshine Meadow on the Erddig Estate will become a sea of blue in aid of Nightingale House Hospice.
The hospice is launching its third Sunshine Meadow this summer, selling specially designed everlasting bluebells to help raise money for patient care. Working with the National Trust, 1,000 bluebells made by the British Ironworks Centre in Oswestry will be on display in the Moss Walk at Erddig.
A bluebell can be purchased for £30 and become a touching tribute to the life of a loved one or a beautiful gift for a family friend or relative. We sold just under 1,000 last year and attracted attention from the BBC and ITV.
Bluebells on Display
The bluebells will on display from June 12th to July 16th. When the display period is over, you can collect the bluebells from August 22nd from Caffi Cwtch at the Nightingale House Hospice on Chester Road, Wrexham. We will also post them out if you pay the postage. This year’s sponsors are InXpress, Wrexham, Entrec, Excell Supply Limited and DTCC.
Hospice fundraiser Delyth Underwood said: “We hope people will be able to support us again this year. We understand everyone has faced very uncertain times, but we need support for our hospice more now than ever. We have had to cancel or postpone so many events and close our shops and cafes during the last 12 months.

Nightingale Berry Gin Launch
Following the success of a unique gin produced to raise patient care funds, Nightingale House Hospice has developed a new berry flavoured edition.
Last year, the hospice collaborated with Shropshire Gin Distillery to produce a bespoke Nightingale House hand-crafted gin to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
The independent distillery, based in Ellesmere, is known for creating artisan-handcrafted premium gins using traditional copper still methods. The company is the proud winner of two International Wine and Spirit Competition awards.
Tailored Botanicals
The new berry gin has a careful selection of a handful of tailored botanicals. It is a fresh and fruity juniper-led gin with a subtle sweetness from vibrant raspberries and strawberries alongside aromatic notes derived from pink peppercorns. It gets its beautiful blush colouring naturally from the raspberries with no artificial colours and flavouring.
This limited-edition gin costs £36.50 per bottle and can be purchased directly from theshropshiredistillery.co.uk/gin. A percentage from each bottle sold goes towards patient care.
