Cefn Community Council is proud to invite the community to this year’s Remembrance Service, a solemn occasion to honour the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed for our freedom. The service will commence at 10:35 AM this Sunday at the Cenotaph on Plas Kynaston Lane, Cefn Mawr.
Four Local Primary Schools
The service includes recitations from the children from our four local primary schools: Ysgol Cefn Mawr, Ysgol Acrefair, Ysgol Min y Ddol, and Ysgol Rhosymedre, who will honour the fallen by reciting the names listed on the Cenotaph.
Following the service, there is an open invitation for attendees to gather at George Edwards Hall, where refreshments will be available, and you can see stirring performances by Raise the Roof Choir and the talented children from Ysgol Min y Ddol.
“A Special Place In Our Hearts”
Chairman Mr Phil Vaughan expressed the significance of this event: “Remembrance Day holds a special place in our hearts. It’s a moment for our community to come together, to reflect on the sacrifices made by so many, and to express our deep gratitude. I encourage everyone to join us in paying tribute to our heroes.”
Clerk Trina Nicholls-Smith emphasised the Council’s commitment to organising this important event annually. She said, “Every year, we come together as a community to honour the memory of those who gave their all for our freedom. Organising the Remembrance Service is a profound responsibility and also a privilege for us at Cefn Community Council. It is our way of ensuring that people will never forget the sacrifices of the fallen. Let us gather to remember, reflect, and stand united in gratitude.”
Cefn Community Council’s Remembrance Service is a cherished tradition that underscores the importance of remembering our past.
