Wrexham’s own Leighton Williams’ second novel after the mental health-related According to Him released in 2022 is The Director of Christmas, set in Beninstines, a magical central London toy shop.
It tells the tale of a team of directing elves, led by managing elf Nate and the current incumbent, Roy, as six guys face a festive-long interview process to become Benistines’s next director. However, finding the right guy for the job isn’t going to be easy! Especially when one of them may not be in it for the right reasons!
Leighton said, “I am delighted to be inviting readers into Beninstines toy shop after writing the story for over two years. “I hope that children and adults alike will become immersed into the world of Beninstines and the characters who work and shop there! I’ve always been creative and I wanted my second book to be completely different and much lighter and fun compared to my first. I’ll also be taking a break now before I start my next project.”
The book is aimed at adults and children aged 11 onwards. Younger children may also enjoy it, if they’re into reading.
