Free To Parents Tuesday

Following the donation of clothing from Tesco Cefn Mawr, the school initiative to offer free uniforms to all parents and students across all year groups, including winter coats, bags and other clothing items, has increased in stock and availability.

The event will return every Tuesday afternoon from 3.15 to 4.15pm during the school term.

Athletics Success

Noah Thomas runs regularly for Wrexham AAC in the North Wales cross-country league. He was recently selected to represent North Wales in the Welsh Inter-County Championships. Noah came 13th at a Northeast Wales schools cross-country meet last month, so he is the first reserve for the Welsh school’s championships in February.

Maths Competition Winner

The school regularly runs competitions to win prizes in the Maths department. Its most recent winner was Ellie Jones from Ysgol Acrefair.  Ellie used her Maths estimation skills to evaluate correctly how many chocolate bars were in the jar.

Dragons’ Lair

Vicky Bradbeer from Hope House visited Ysgol Rhiwabon to launch the Year 10 Dragons’ Lair initiative. As part of this exciting project, all Year 10 students have been working hard to create business plans, design marketing campaigns, and prepare pitches to present to local business owners.

Year 10 will also organise and host a “Christmas Fair” on the last day of term. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Hope House.

Assistant Headteacher Mrs Helen Sava said, ”I would like to thank the Hope House Dragons for being able to listen to the students marketing ideas and for taking the time to be part of such an important item in the school curriculum.
