The Nightingale Tree Collection 2025 has become a fixture in the Wrexham festive calendar.

The Nightingale House Christmas Tree Collection returns for 2025

Much-Loved Community Event

Nightingale House Hospice is excited to announce the return of its highly successful Christmas Tree Collection for the sixth year. This much-loved community event will take place on Friday, 10th, and Saturday, 11th January. The collection will kick-start the hospice’s fundraising efforts for the new year.

Displaying impressive community spirit, volunteers from local businesses will brave the cold January weather to collect real Christmas trees from supporters across Wrexham, Flintshire, Llangollen, and also Oswestry. These trees will undergo recycling in environmentally friendly ways. Some will become garden mulch, animal bedding, or even a post-Christmas treat for local farm animals like alpacas and goats.

In 2024, the Christmas Tree collection raised nearly £19,000 for the local charity. This campaign supports patient care and family services at Nightingale House Hospice and benefits the wider community. The initiative is made possible by the generosity and hard work of volunteers. Companies involved include Read Construction, Rivington Haulage, Advanced Roofline, MPH Construction, and many others. Thorncliffe Building Supplies, TG Group, ASH Waste, and P&A Group also partner with the hospice to recycle the collected trees.

Heart-Warming

Mikey Jones, a Community Fundraiser at the hospice, was very impressed. He said: “This is the first time I’ve organised the Christmas Tree Collection, and I’m really looking forward to it. The support from our community, local businesses, and volunteers is incredible. Snatch It’s heart-warming to see so many returning to help year after year. Without their dedication, this wouldn’t be possible. If you see them collecting, give them a smile and wave – it means the world!”

Supporters wishing to have their real Christmas trees collected can book online at just-helping.org.uk/register-tree or contact the fundraising team at 01978 314 292.

Bookings close at 11:59pm on Monday, 6th January 2025, and there’s no minimum donation required – every penny makes a world of difference to Nightingale House Hospice, helping the local charity to continue providing patient care to patients and their families living with life-limiting conditions in the community.

Money for most of Nightingale’s running costs comes through fundraising and other income generation channels, including its on-site café and retail outlets that significantly contribute to maintaining services for those with life-limiting illnesses.

Services are entirely free of charge to patients and their families across the hospice’s catchment area stretching from Wrexham, Flintshire and East Denbighshire to Barmouth. The border towns, including Oswestry, Ellesmere, Wem and Whitchurch, are also eligible.

Nightingale House Hospice services are available to everyone living with a life-limiting illness in its catchment area. It costs £4,900,513 each year to run Nightingale House Hospice.

That’s equivalent to £408,376 per month, £94,241 per week or £13,389 per day.
