Supreme sheepdogs look set to impress at the International UK Sheepdog Trials Finals 2025 at Brynkinalt Estate, Chirk, Wrexham, from Thursday 11th to Saturday 13th September.
Supreme Champion
The 2025 International Trials are the culmination of the UK sheepdog trials diary, with competitors and their dogs from the four home nations qualifying at their own National Trials throughout the summer. From these trials, each nation sends a team to the international trial, where competition is strong as members and their dogs compete to become the International Supreme Champion.
The event will take place at Brynkinalt Estate, a fantastic venue steeped in history. The house remains a family home, and its current custodians, Iain and Kate Hill-Trevor, have kindly agreed to host the trial this year. The layout of the field also offers an excellent viewing location from the stands, allowing visitors to see the expansive parkland rolling out and up towards the Hall in the distance.
The sheep used in this year’s trial are hardy Welsh Mountain yearlings. This breed has close links to the Ceiriog Valley and the surrounding North Wales region.
Unique and Ancient Skill
With easy access to the event near the main A483 at Gledrid, organisers hope that many visitors will attend from the local area and further afield to observe the unique and ancient skill of sheepdog trialling and witness which dog and handler receive the title of Supreme Champions.
