Isabella Crowther: Wrexham’s very own creator of crashing, swirling and ‘reverberative’ music
While Isabella was studying popular music at Goldsmiths, University of London. She learned the ethos of DIY/Punk/Riot Grrrl (that is the right spelling – look it up online – Ed) and started to record and produce her own music. She has self-produced and released two EPs available to stream and download everywhere.
Adam Walton of BBC Introducing Wales has said about her: “So good! You know, perhaps the most exciting part of doing this role is playing artists that you just know are going to have a resonance.”
Isabella has also founded Immerse Music Academy. A music academy with a focus on educating pupils to not just get through their grades, but how to be real performers. They offer guitar, vocal and songwriting lessons to beginner and intermediate students. All the tutors are performers themselves and have real-world industry experience. They make the lessons fun and relevant to today’s ever-changing music industry. Importantly all the tutors are fully DBS checked.
As Isabella mentions on musicteachers.co.uk. Her ethos is ‘strongly believing in the benefits of learning an instrument and/or songwriting. Especially for children and young adults. This encourages confidence building, self-discipline and creative expression which are all useful and transferable skills.’
