Wrexham Connection Callout – Monday Motivation

by Love Wrexham Magazine
National Theatre Wales

Firstly, every Monday, the National Theatre Wales Community will be posting different ways to get involved in their Connection Callout. This is to help them connect with the homeless community in Wrexham and find ways to support them and share positivity.

Back in November last year, TEAM held a series of art workshops for local homeless participants. Wrexham artists Adrian Medcalf and Sophia Leadill taught a variety of art forms, including portrait painting and badge making. The work was displayed in Wrexham library in a month-long exhibition “Our Voices”.

Moreover, this week, we wanted to share a quotation one of the participants included in their artwork; “Don’t treat me as I am invisible, I have a story to tell too, hard part is finding the words.”

It’s All About You

We’re aware that it may be daunting to start writing a letter to someone you’ve not met. You may be having difficulty in finding the words right now. So this week, we’re encouraging you to share words from other people that have meaning to you. It could be; a quotation, words that have comforted/motivated/amused you, lyrics from your favourite song, a poem that you’ve always loved or one you’ve discovered recently and has stuck with you.

TEAM Creative Associate, Anastacia has taken part with her family and chosen one of her favourite poems. If you’d like to share anything this week, please email it to team@nationaltheatrewales.org or send it to c/o NTW TEAM, No 22, Tŷ Pawb, Market St, Wrexham LL13 8BB

Full details of the Callout are on our website.

Finally, check back every Monday for updates and various ways you can contribute to the Callout and please do get in touch – they’d love to see your responses and hear your own ideas to inspire others to take part. You use the hashtag #ntwTEAM on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram
