Local Guitar Teacher Releases Charity Christmas Single

A local guitar teacher has decided to release a Christmas single, raising money for Nightingale House Hospice.

One Life

Dale Irving from Borras does something music-based every Christmas to raise money for charity. He has written a couple of songs called “One Life” and “Open Your Heart”.

Dale says “I never intended to write a Xmas song, but when I started coming up with lyrics, ‘this Christmas time’ popped into my head! The more the song developed, I started to think that having children sing the end chorus would be really cool.

“Once I’d written the songs, I used my own money to work with some session musicians for the drums, bass and lead vocals. I play guitar, keyboard and backing vocals on the songs. I’ve got a decent voice but not great. The guy Ethan who sang lead vocals really did the songs justice.

Borras Park Primary

“The biggest task was recording 30-plus children and mixing them into the track. My daughter, who goes to Borras Park Primary, allowed me to come in and record them all one by one singing the chorus. That took some time!

The other children who sing on the track are guitar students of mine. Plus some of my friends’ kids who wanted to take part. I think there are nearly 40 children in total.

The song is even better than I imagined and that’s thanks to the children and the other musicians who took part.

All the proceeds will go to Nightingale House. I hope everyone will give this song a listen and download it. It’s a song that will put a smile on your face, you can also win some great prizes and ultimately raise money.
