Well-known local florist, Laura Evison drives charity fundraiser.
Laura is the owner of Regent House of Flowers on Yorke Street. The business was established in 1947, with Laura taking over in 2006. She specialises in funeral tributes, and they are the only florist in Wrexham that provide an artificial hire service.
What customers might not know about Laura is that she is also an accomplished artist. She paints in memory of her partner Mick who suffered from mental health issues and PTSD. The proceeds of her work go towards the armed forces charity, SSAFA, and the National Trust towards maintaining the paths of Brecon.
Pen y Fan was very important to Mick, and they visited it many times. Laura returns every month in his memory, and the view there is very special to her. She has decided to put her painting of the landscape in a draw. The donation is £2.50 to enter, and the bigger your contribution, the more chances you have to win!
Laura hopes to raise £500 with the draw happening on June 18th at Pen y Fan in sight of the view that inspired the painting.
