Hotel Wrexham (formerly Holt Lodge Hotel) was delighted to host its first Family Fest last month, expertly organised by the team at Skellon Events.
Held from noon to 9pm, the family fun day was a free event offering games and activities for the whole family to enjoy. Children enjoyed inflatables, face painting, garden games donated by Net World Sport and science workshops by Xplore. Piccolos Music and The Story-Teller were also in attendance.
The stage was filled all day with talented Wrexham musicians, from chilled acoustic vibes in the day to full-on ‘dancing in the dark’ to the Rhythm Train.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service and Blood Bikes were also present so any budding firefighters could see a fire engine up close and even try their hand at using a fire hose.
There were also plenty of shopping opportunities at trade stalls from local businesses, with jewellery, books, cakes and beauty products all for sale.
In addition, a wide selection of outdoor food was on offer, including sizzling BBQ burgers, delicious ice cream served from an ice cream van, and a range of beverages, including Wrexham Lager. There was even a Wrexham FC win, live on the big screen.
The Savvy Fox
Visitors on the day also had a chance to view the plans for the new hotel, including the mood boards showcasing The Savvy Fox, Hotel Wrexham’s brand-new restaurant, which it is busy preparing for ahead of its official opening in November.
Speaking of the success of Family Fest, Dan Gillon, one of the Hotel Wrexham owners, said: “We had an amazing day. We wanted to thank everyone for the warm welcome we received from Wrexham.
It was a memorable day of community spirit, entertainment and activities. Even the weather managed to play its part.
