Joshua Tree CEO Undertakes Arctic Challenge
Joshua Tree Chief Executive Officer Rich Driffield will participate in the 2025 Arctic Frontier Challenge: Beyond Boundaries for Childhood Cancers to raise awareness and vital funds to support families affected by childhood cancer.
Three-Day Journey
Starting on January 15th, this intense three-day journey will span 40 miles. It starts in from Rovaniemi, Finland and crosses into the Arctic Circle. Participants will face temperatures as low as -20°C, navigate and harsh terrain. They will also haul heavy equipment, and sleep under the stars in one of the world’s most unforgiving environments.
Rich Driffield, who joined The Joshua Tree as CEO in November 2021, has brought his extensive experience in the charity sector. He has provided leadership in income generation and strategy. Under his guidance, The Joshua Tree has expanded its reach and services to meet the growing needs of families.
Reflecting on the challenge, Rich said, “I am a proud CEO of The Joshua Tree. I witness the transformative impact of our work on families navigating childhood cancer every day. That’s why I’m stepping out of my comfort zone and into the Arctic cold. I want to ensure we can continue to be a lifeline for families in their time of greatest need.”
Danielle Percival, Head of Family Support at The Joshua Tree, shared her thoughts on Rich’s upcoming trek: “Taking part in the trek is a prime example of how committed and driven Rich is for our charity. Knowing that the vital funds he raises will go directly to the families we support will mean he will give it his absolute all. Good Luck, Rich!”
