The Clwyd Veteran and Vintage Machinery Society Ltd are holding their annual vintage show on the Oswestry Showground, SY11 4AB, on the 14th and 15th June from 10am to 4:30pm.

45th Show

The CVVMS will be holding their 45th show this year. The club came about in 1976 when a group of founding members sought to create a vintage car club based in Wrexham. The first show took place on Plas Coch and later relocated to Plassey Field, where club members assisted in repairing the windmill. It then moved to the Oswestry Showground, where the show has been held ever since.

You can expect to see a wide range of exhibits on the show field, including classic cars, tractors, trucks, motorbikes, Land Rovers, pedal cycles, steam engines, horticultural machinery, heavy horses, stationary engines, military vehicles, classic caravans, and outdoor and awning displays. Additionally, in the sheds, you will find a fantastic craft section featuring a variety of homemade gifts and goodies, as well as the model section, which showcases model trains, buses, Meccano, and more.

Outside, you’ll find the brilliant trade and autojumble section, where bargains are plentiful! The show also features a delicious catering section, complete with a bar, hot and cold food, and even ice cream. There is something for everyone, as we feature fairground rides, ring parades throughout the day, and introduce our new 2025 dog and duck show. On Sunday, they also host the fun dog show.

Fantastic Club and Committee Members

This show would not be possible if it weren’t for the work of our fantastic club and committee members. The club meets on the first Tuesday of every month at Llay British Legion at 7:30pm. We have guest speakers, a raffle, and a bar. They are a welcoming group of people of any age, and you don’t need any prior experience with machinery – just a keen interest.

The club would like to extend a massive thank you to all section stewards, marshals, sponsors, Oswestry Showground, landowners, and businesses for displaying posters and banners.
