Groundwork North Wales is an independent charity. It is a part of the Groundwork Federation of Independent Charities. Each Groundwork Trust is also a member of the federation and signs up to a series of common aims, objectives and processes.
They also work alongside local communities, public bodies, private companies and other voluntary sector organisations to support communities in need. Delivering projects across North Wales creating better neighbourhoods, building skills and job projects and helping people to live and work altogether and in a greener way.
Based in Tanyfron, Wrexham Groundwork North Wales have various projects running across Wrexham and North Wales. Recently taking over the running of the café now called ‘Caffi Cyfle’ and event space ‘Venue in the Park’ at Alyn Waters. The aim of the café is to support the lives of individuals with all abilities through in-house work and also the volunteering programme. The café creates delicious dishes using fresh and sustainably-sourced local ingredients.
Groundwork North Wales – Summer Holiday Plans
Moreover, the charity will be hosting various children’s activities over the summer holidays. This will be based at Venue in the Park, which will include some great craft workshops and social events. Thanks to funding from a National Lottery grant, Groundwork North Wales have also re-opened the Minera Lead Mines near Wrexham. This is an exciting visitor attraction and outdoor events space. The visitors centre is open every weekend, with free parking and toilet facilities. This is a great place to visit and explore. The centre also has an exciting programme of activities for all ages and abilities that will run during the school holidays.
