‘We are proud to announce that our demo kitchen will be headed up by sous chef Matthew Scard-Jones from The Shippon Restaurant at The Plassey. Matthew has been in the catering industry for over 16 years working across a range of catering establishments such as The Alun in Rossett, Bryn Tyrch in Snowden and The Coach House Inn in Chester where he won best Pub for Food in 2016. He has been a demonstration chef since 2016 and has demoed at events such as the Great British Food Festival and Chester Food Festival.

‘Matthew will be working with a range of other highly talented local chefs to bring a variety of fantastic dishes to our demo kitchen. These dishes are all going to be available on recipe cards given to you at the event. You will be cooking up a storm with these amazing quick dishes!

‘It’s a family-friendly event that will be delivering an entertainment-packed weekend everyone can enjoy. There will be free cookery classes, children’s activities, competitions, music stages and lots more over the two days.

‘We can guarantee Wrexham Feast will be a great way to keep your children entertained – from box forts to crafty sessions, there will be activities available for kids aged 1-99!

As previous years have seen the Wrexham Food and Drink scene grow, Wrexham Feast aims to deliver an event that incorporates excellent value with everything the area has to offer. With the support and backing of the Wrexham Council Event team, we will ensure it’s a weekend to remember!’

Wrexham Feast – a Local Business Showcase

Wrexham Feast will be showcasing local businesses at a range of ‘mini-feasts’ throughout the year. These mini feasts will be held in Wrexham’s Enterprise Hub in the town centre on the following dates:

  • Saturday 11th July – Food and drink feast
  • Saturday 1st August – Vegan feast
  • Saturday 22nd August – Food, drink and crafts

These events will run from 10am-4pm and will host a range of local businesses showing off their amazing products. Each event will also have a competition in which you can win a family pass for the Wrexham Feast in September. Wrexham Feast is incorporating a vast range of local businesses and services within all the events and would love for anyone who may be interested in coming and having a chat with them.

Sam and Joss sign off by saying ‘Wrexham Feast is a Social Enterprise; we aim to deliver a wide range of large-scale events for the Wrexham community and support the tourism industry within the area. We will be bringing unusual and family-friendly activities to Wrexham throughout the year.

‘Trader applications are now open for all our events and we are looking forward to working with a great range of local businesses in the future.’
