The Welsh Government has announced the creation of a start-up grant. This will specifically support new businesses dealing with the severe impact of Covid-19. The fund will initially be worth £5 million, but this could increase in the future. It will support start-up firms which fall outside the UK Government’s Self Employment Income Support Scheme as they only began trading in 2019.
Additionally, after launching the eligibility checker online a couple of weeks ago, the full application process for the next phase of the Economic Resilience Fund reopened on Monday, 29th June. Applications for the new start-up support opened at the same time.
